She grew up with three siblings: with two sisters and a brother. Hungarian is her first language and she teaches it often to keep in the loop. Bruckner was a Californian from Hollywood being born of Hungarian parents as well as Russian mothers who had separated. Her paternal grandmother was German. In Hungary the parents of Bruckner first met and then immigrated into America in 1984 through a refugee settlement in Italy. She has a sibling and a brother.
